Top Priced Stud Ram Purchase at Roslynmead West Sheep Studs

The Roslynmead West Sheep Studs inaugural sale held October 5th saw Glenowra Australian White Sheep stud come away with Lot 11, one of the top priced stud rams at $7, 750. The purchase included 3 other stud rams, as well as 12 flock rams to build our stud and commercial line.

Lot ll is sired by Tattykeel 161504, with the majority of our purchases having a strong Tattykeel Australian White bloodline. This is to ensure only the best genetics are used as we aim for our goal of 10,000 breeding ewes by 2022.

The stud principal Danny Teskera commented he was “quite humbled” by the success of the sale, which grossed at $268,000 for a $3,731 average. Danny was the judge of the Australian Whites at the 2016 Australian Sheep and Wool Show and the 2015 Sydney Royal Easter Show, and the stud have made several big purchases in the past few years with Tattykeel. In Tattykeels 3rd Annual Sale, the stud purchased Lot 51 in partnership with Ardene Australian Whites which was the second highest ram sold. Recently, Roslynmead made the purchase of Tattykeel 190899, son of Tattykeel ‘Ruger’ for $36,000, in the Tattykeel 8th annual stud sale.
